We are commanded to make disciples but do we really know what that means? Webster defines disciple as “one who accepts and assists in spreading the doctrine of another.” Simply put, a disciple is like an apprentice - somebody who learns from one who is more experienced. I love Star Wars so the analogy that stands out to me is the Jedi and the Padawan. The movies are filled with the masters training the learners. The training involves much time and effort from both the master and the learner; dedication is required.

Disipleship is much more than doing a book study together or meeting for 1 hour a week. It’s really living life together, being real and vulnerable, sharing your strengths and weaknesses. It's being real. We say as Paul wrote, "follow me as I follow Christ."
